When I switch on the cooker hood, the light flashed on briefly, and then neither the light nor the fan worked. Is it a fuse, and if so, where do I find it on the cooker hood?
open the hood filter area and on the inside at the front is 1 screw that holds the switch assembly. this is where the trouble was found on mine (fan not worked for ages - change bulbs every 2 weeks then bang and nothing). it had burn out the pcb and switch however i'm sure these are crap units designed to do this. rplacement parts are easily found online and ebay (model no inside filter area).

Not usually an internal fuse on these, but I could be wrong...there may be a fuse in the connection where the cooker hood is wired into your house circuit (its called a 'spur') or failing that, look for a tripped breaker on your switchboard. Cooker hoods normally only have about 1m of cable provided by the maker, but the sparky could have put the spur anywhere - even inside the unit.
