Hello
I have a Qualcast electric lawn mower, a model "T35". The motor's, Atco part number L80289, bearings have gone and I wish to replace the bearings. I think the motor otherwise survivied the bearing failure and dont want to wreck it by attempting to remove the belt-pulley and brake-nut in the wrong manner so I would like to know if the belt-pulley on the bottom end of the armature's shaft and the 'brake-nut' on the top end of the armature's shaft are shrink fit, press fit or on a thread. I have drifted out the 'split' pin from the belt-pulley but the belt-pulley doesn't seem to want to shift, I have access to pullers and a 10 ton bench press.
Thanks
The brake nut is a drift fit on splines, sadly the top bearing is a self aligning bearing which I assume is a "one of" for the motor so .......I have a knackered motor. Bummer!!!!
well... the belt-pulley is a light press fit or sliding fit and came of with a puller. That still leaves the brake-nut which it "well on" however it is fixed.
