How is my Montgomery Ward URR-785B supposed to be wired?I have an old Montgomery Ward sewing machine (Model No. URR-785B, Serial # 55x) which is mounted in a sewing machine table, with the pedal mounted to the inside on the right, to be controlled by the right knee. The previous owners cut the chord coming from the pedal, and spliced the chord coming from the motor. Right now, the motor can be plugged directly into the wall (which I know it shouldn't be!), and the pedal isn't connected to anything. My understanding is that the pedal should be plugged into the wall, and the motor plugged into the pedal to control the speed. I'm thinking there may have been a junction box or something similar also mounted underneath the table. It's a nice machine in great shape, and I would love to be able to use it. Any suggestions?

So where does the pedal connect? If I plug the motor into the wall, the machine starts automatically, going at the fastest speed, because the pedal is not regulating it.

The pedal should not be plugged into the wall it should be the lead coming from the motor.
