My laptop computer has become slow and it says that there is only 15% free space left on it despite the fact I dont have much that I need to save (just a bit of music and Approx 20 docs). How do I know what I can delete without losing the performance of my wireless printer or my ability to connect to the internet? Defrag and deleting unwanted / unused programs has negligible effect.
go to start menu- run- then type msconfig, a window will open called the windows configuration utility. , select selective start up then click on the start up tab at the top, you will then see a list of programms that start when you boot the PC up find the programmes you dont need to run on start up and uncheck the box example adobe reader, msn messenger audio programms, office, basically all the programms you installed yourself. , dont worrie they will still work when you click on them as you need them. this should help . also in the same run box type PREFETCH a window will open with dat files in . delete all the files . this helps loads , sorry dont have time to Explain how this works.
