Is my laptop dead?Hi anybody know why my Sony Vaio PCG-FRV37 notebook won't power up at all? One minute it worked fine, the next it will not turn on. It appears to be completely dead, no lights, no sounds, nothing. I was unable to find anything that appeared damaged or unusual with the computer or powercord. A voltage meter confirmed powercord is working correctly. Does anyone have any ideas on what could have caused this? Any help or suggestions will be truly appreciated,
Thanks

Some of the checks I can advise are as follows:
1. Unplug all cables, remove battery, and hold down power button (on/off button) for 30 seconds. Insert power adaptor and check for any lights on the laptop. Sometimes, it can be failure of battery so leaving battery unplugged can be useful in eliminating this.
2. Check the pin in the DC port to see if loose
If these both problems fail, its likely you need a new motherboard, or possibly a a new DC port soldering on the motherboard.
Its hard to say why or how it would have happened until there is inspection of the fault.
Dont forget to look out for signs of life in the laptop after the checks and let us know how it went
