Optima xm panel?I have an optima xm alarm system. its a pitty that someone has sent a bad reply to the man who has a fault with his Tamper light. there is no need for a bad reply to this man.
Anyway, I have the same problem too. Maybe I can receive a a good reply, and not receiving a bad mouth person who I am certain te man who was requesting help did not need.
So is there anyone there who can advise me. As I know many other people who have been having problems withe the tampr red light coming on. Alarms always going off when leaving the house.
A good advice would be nice thank you.
Please tell me the correct readings if I use a test meter for the tamper circuit.
Can I fix this problem? easy without replacing the system control panel.

A panel like an optima xm is very old and was good at the time for a small domestic home, compared to say an old bentley panel or a munford and white.
To solve your problem turn off the mains supply then take off the lid using the single screw to the right. in the middle of the pcb you will see a pair of terminals marked t with two wires going in to them, remove these wires then place a small metal link between the terminals some times they will be left in the bottom of the panel or a small piece of wire will do, put it all back together and press reset this should cure the problem, if not it may be the bell tamper circuit or the lid tamper but try this first. but to be honest if you are relying on this alarm to protect your home get it serviced by a pro it will cost £60- 100 ish hope this helps

Do a search, its probably a BAD BATTERY get the drift?
Also using English rather than loosely strung together words helps us no end. Love to tell you the correct readings for the tamper circuit, what is the cable run length is it alarm cable or a cheap install with left over BT cable? How many devices are on the global tamper circuit? Assume 20ohms for 100 mts add 11 ohms for anyone of 200 PIR`s perhaps 0,04 for each contact or panic button. Whilst your checking what is the induced AC on the DC lines, what current does the panel draw from the PSU in alarm?
Where shall we go from here?
