Hi my fire is four years old we have just had annual bass check he smoked tested the flu all OK but glass keeps sooting up really quick not happens before help
A "sooty flame" indicates that incomplete combustion is taking place. The most likely cause for incomplete combustion is lack of oxygen.

Hi thanks for your text but I have a natural gas fire no wood logs fake logs gas from main supply . but the inside of fire walls an all keep sooting up a lot

check that the airwash vents are open, sometimes damp wood will make the glass black, put a big fire on , and text the airwash vents,
