I swopped the original Peugeot factory fitted radio CD (Bosch 250) for a kenwood unit. I now want to put it back before I sell the van.
The original radio powers up OK but says 'cancheck' - something to do with the canbus system I assume. I have the radio code but there's no guidance in the handbook on how to enter this - anyway I assume that the word 'Code' would appear first in order to do this.
So far I have called 8 Peugeot dealers, Peugeot customer services, Peugeot fleet and Bosch automotive - No one has been able to tell me how to get rid of 'Cancheck' or how to enter the radio code
Why people bother to have call centres when most know nothing about their products
CANCHECK usually only pops up on Fiat/Alfa Romeo radio systems !
Anyway during power-up, the radio checks the car's unique identification information via the CAN bus.
If the radio is refitted into another car, the information will not match the previously stored in the radio EEPROM memory.
As a result, an error message of "CANCHECK" will appear or the radio will request the code.
You need to check again if all wires are properly connected to the radio. The radio needs to receive the CAN bus signal to operate.
If the wires are connected but you still see "CANCHECK", you will need to have the radio reprogrammed by a professional decoding specialist.
Can i suggest to login into the Boxer help forum and post the query on there as well, they are very helpful...
