Pop-up toaster won't stay down!?I press down the lever of my toaster, but it just springs back up again. The elements come on if I hold down the lever. Is that someting that I can repair easily?
Toaster model is a Schneider SC4S-02-1 (4-slice), about 3 or 4 years old

may be due to some problem in electromagnetic circuit that initially keep the lever in hold position when pressed down.

I have the same problem. Toaster will heat if held down, but will not stay down. I've got mine stripped down and still cant see the problem.

hi there
i think you will find its something to do with the
switch, either being dirty, ir faulty
if you open it , what a nightmare triange screwdriver required, you will see a circuit board
1st spray some switch cleaner on the back of it to clean tyhe rotoray switch, if these contacts get dirty
the toaster wont work
2nd cleck for bad contacts mine had a dry joint on the
circuitbaord, ..
check the fuse ofcourse in the plug
if no voltage getting to the machine , then it wont stay down
hope it helps
