This camera was purchased 5 months ago and because of the problems with the batteries I have hardly used it. I keep getting the 'battery empty' red icom appearing when I've recently placed 2 brand new good quality batteries in the camera. I am only able to take 6 - 10 photos ( with flash ) before it tells me the batteries need replacing and it shuts down. If I place the same batteries in another item they work! I would be grateful for any help
I love my trusty fe210 but have the same prob. Have tried many brands batts and have settled on NiCd with a spare pair on hand at all times.. fe210 shares circuits with models having the 3.7 volt lithium ion rechargeable battery so 3V from alkaline AA's always looks marginal to it. 2.4 V from NiMH or NiCd scare it to death.. A paranoid battery condition circuit and poor quality battery contacts are the issues. When I get the dreaded "BATTERY EMPTY" 1st thing I do is clean the contacts deep inside the camera and on the door, and on the batteries with a Q tip and isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) .. The same batts often then yield the green light.. This camera does eat batteries tho so rechargeables of your choice is a good investment..I personally dislike NiMH..
Seems to be dodgy battery sensor as noted on internet.
I find that if I take the mem card out and use the internal memory, the batteries last a lot longer. This sounds morer like a hardware problem, as the door clamps down on both the batteries and the card.
I am usign this camera for a while, but ut seems I battery is exhusted very quickly.I doubt whether am using right battery.currently I am using Ni-MH rechargable one with 1.2 volt of Sony.
TRY READING PAGE 54 OF YOUR MANUAL ON TYPES OF BATTERIES, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS GO TO THEIR WEB SITE.
HOPE THIS HELPS COS I HAD SAME PROBLEMS AND IT WAS BATTERY TYPE.
