Yes, the venturi pipes are the little pipes inside the elbow section that goes on to the fan. It only takes a small build up of deposit to stop it working. Hopefully yours now works!. The screws holding the elbow to the fan do tend to seize and shear when removed.

not sure what venturi pipes were , are they the pipes inside chamber that flexi pipes join to from the pressure switch ? i hope so , no they wernt at all but gave them a clean through but the fan blades were manky , and i noticed a screw that held fan to champer sheard and fan liyng of centre , i drilled it out and refitted , i didnt think fan was noisy but now its silent and gave it all a good clean out , hot water appears to be better , not sure if this little job would help my problem hope so though , will keep you posted thanks andy

So long as the flue is securely back together, the sealed chamber is properly closed and there are no 'left over' bits following re-assembly I guess it should be fine. A corgi man would check the flue and burner pressures and maybe check that the flue is not going to get blocked with foliage. As a matter of principle its probably a bad idea to recommend to a stranger that they dismantle their gas appliance, even if it is an easy cleaning job. You may be fine but someone else may try it and make a mistake. Probably no more dangerous than working on ones car/motorcycle though.

Did it fix your problem?. Were there build ups of muck on the venturi tubes?.

Although it is a fairly simple operation to clean the venturi it is part of the safety mechanism of the boiler and best left to a Corgi man, it is inside the sealed combustion chamber.

However descriptions of how to remove the venturi from the boiler and clean it with a needle file are out there if you google. The other tool needed is a No2 pozidrive, and a brush to clean the fan/HE. Read the manual.
