how can i fix my hotpoint washer wm52?

Something is shorting out in the machine. Switch off machine. Check the wiring looms for wires rubbing on the frame and shorting out. Disconnect various components starting with the heater, then the motor, the valves, pump etc. until the mains doesnt trip out. when that happens you have your faulty component.

check heater.disconnect all wires to heater and see if it now trips
