The soldering spots at the bottom side,where the power ic,s are attached were damaged due to a heat.
Remake them and it works OK again.
This only if the speakers are OK and no other blown parts.

Ive had this problem, started with the rear speakers dropping out occasionally, then the dreaded PROTECT.

Ive just fixed mine partly thanks to s few web pages like this. The problem was dry joints under the main board. Their are four components joined to the main heat sink running down the middle, each has 4/5 pins through the board, 3 out of the 4 had dry joints. Soldered them back up and i now have full surround sound again :)

There's lots of info about this fault. It's common with this unit. The heat management inside the unit is poor and causes the amplifier output transistors to detach from the circuit board.
Resolder the pins and you'll be good for another year or two.
The fan stops rotating when no sound signal is detected (a nice idea to minimise the distracting noise). However, wthout the fan going, the temperature climbs and cooks the solder joints. Switch the amplifier off when not in use and you might get a few extra months out of it! I've put some extra heatsinking on mine, and I'm now trying to modify the fan control circuit to allow it to rotate slowly when the unit is idling.

Since it used to protect itself before from time to time I suspect the speakers you are using are either the wrong ones (impedance too low) or are faulty. The other cause is people connecting extra speakers.
Continued use of the setup in this condition has probably caused problems with the output circuitry now.
You are likely to need the services of a professional. Sorry.

the only reason it would go straight to "protect" mode would be a short. I know on my Aiwa dv-67, I had a wire from my left "B"channel speaeker break off into the terminal connector. It was from the "hot" (red) side and it bridged a connection to an inductor on the mainboard, causing a short. I removed the wire and my surround processor started right up! I would check on that, otherwise, if your amp has two stereo chanel outputs (I couldn't find a manual online for your model) be sure only the one that you are using is enabled.
