my kenmore freezer motor is running but will not freeze?

Our freezer (same model number as yours) is doing the same thing. The Sears repairman we had out here today says that these Kenmore models are made by Frigidaire and that they are not intended to last much more than five years. He said our freezer has some pinholes in the coils and is losing freon. His recommendation was to junk the freezer (as it wasn't worth fixing) and buy either a Whirlpool or Woods. I've seen another website like this one where another person had the same exact complaint on the very same model! We plan on checking out some upright Whirlpool freezers at Lowes this weekend.
