How can I fix my Simpson Ezyjet 550?

A sock has fallen between the tub & the casing of my Simpson Ezyjet washing machine. Is there any way that I can get it out without taking the machine to bits? And if its stuck there forever will it mean that the next time I do some washing that the machine floods my laundry?

Hi Matt. Bad luck matey. I too have had a similar problem, but this was with an earlier model. I got a slipper wedged between the rotor and the main funnel dispenser. I found just shaking it for about a minute to get the access fluids off helps, then turning it on and banging it untill you hear it release. Make sure you shake it afterwards agin just to make sure.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your stickly little problem

Are you SURE it's a sock?

This is the first time I've heard of a sock getting lost during the wash part of the laundry process - usually they disappear well into the drying stage.

Very strange. I think "Matt" is having us on.

yes that is what i did aswell Audrey, BUT that unsavoury
looking gunk is not gunk, it is the lubricant oil for the inner spinner of
the machine, make sure you dont throw that lubricant away as it is very expensive.

Best of luck my fellow Simpson Ezyjet 550 users.

lets stick together.

Hi Matt,

I had the same problem with my Ezyjet 540 (an earlier, but similar), except it was a woollen mitten that was stuck not a sock. I found that by turning the machine upside down and running it on the short-cycle the mitten was freed up.

Make sure you don't use washing powder though and stand back as far as possible (my small child was splashed with some rather unsavoury looking "gunk" on our first attempt).

Best of luck - I hope you haven't thrown the matching sock out!

Audrey.
