my 17 HP. ohc briggs & stratton model 311707 0132-e1 smokes?

When I fill with oil to the full mark, It smokes really bad And Blowes oil in the carburator. I have got to run it half way to the full mark when I mow the lawn??

I,ve got the same issues w/ a craftsman rider , same engine and type. Turn the air fuel idle screw far left, also the air filt needs to be cleaned or replaced. hot soap and water or sears has them for about 20 bucks.POss. bad head gasget could be an issue. NOTE. these engines suck.....

the air filer needs replaced, it is saturated with oil and can not breath. then, you need a diverter for that oil that splashes up through the breather tube so that the oil doesn't hit your new air filter to start the process all over again.
