Indesit Condenser dryer, drum doesn't turn, belt OK?
We have an Indesit IS70CS condensing dryer.
For several months it was making a squeaking noise when on, then the other day the drum stopped turning.
The drum spins if empty, although with a bit of delay for the thing to start turning, stick a load in and it doesn't turn and we get the obligatory smell of burning as the motor is turning but not moving the belt.
Still not sorted this, getting earache so got to fix it.
Had another good look.
With a load in the drum won't spin, the spindle of the motor is not turning, so the burning smell isn't the spindle spinning against a stationary belt.
I am presuming new motor?

Burning smell?? Rubber or what???
If rubber,
You say belt ok. remove belt. does drum spin freely??
If yes, could be belt slip. Some bolts fit the motor, loosen them off, pull the motor away from drum, (not to much) hold and retighten bolts.
IF not rubber burn smell, could be electrical burn, motor had it.
