Can I run my Bosch DW without the top spray arm?

The screw holding in the top spray arm has disappeared. I'm having a heck of a time getting a replacement. Meanwhile can I run the machine without it?

Oh, sigh, I was afraid that was the answer. Now if I can only get the Lowe's extended warranty people to address this before my dinner party this week...

Not recommended Kaye, the water that normally comes out of the wash arm via its jet holes will now come out of the tube that supplies the arm like a tap,this when it hits the floor of the dishwasher could cause an overflow of the base and trigger the anti-flood system. Cheers
