One of the key things to check are the clamps. The ribber clamps tilt the machine up and cause issues with the lace carriage. Having the machine flat seems to be best. The fiber (yarn or cotton) used needs to have the right tension. if your tension is too tight the stitches cannot transfer and this causes jamming. If using cotton or stiff fiber you may need use wax.
I hope this helps.

Hi Jennifer,
Sorry to hear you have a problem.
There are a couple of things to check. First make sure the needle retaining/sponge bar is in good condition. The foam on the bar should be quite thick and spongey to hold the needles down against the needle bed.
Also check that the lace carriage is not damaged/out of line.
