Ice on floor of Bosch frost-free freezer?

Ice has been forming on the floor of the freezer compartment of my Bosch KGU3220GB. My guess is a blocked drain but I have tried clearing the drain from underneath with no success. I would like to remove the back panel on the inside of the freezer but it is very flimsy and I am worried about breaking it.

You can remove the back panel and you will see some ice collected where the drain hole is Use a hai dryer to melt this ice and when the drain hole is revealed pour hot water down and see is it draining into the tray at the back If not continue with haidryer until it is free Replace panel and it is good for about another year when you will have to repeat this

Bosch fridge /freezer Continued......This morning I dismantled the cover panels & inspected the evaporator-all OK but a pool of water around the drain outlet so tried to unblock without success. Then after pulling away from the wall I saw that Bosch had the ill concieved idea to put a "U "bend in the connecting tube which I removed & extracted a plug of black organic matter (beware of legionaires disease!!) so it seems that this maintenance should be done every couple of years.I noticed that many of the parts are made in Italy, including the compressor(Aspera)which is used in lower price appliances--lesson learned!!!

I bought a fridge/rfeezer 4 years ago & decided to go for an expensive Bosch model for better service & longevity-how wrong was I !! The plastic drawers & flaps are fragile & a while ago the freezer temp LED (-18 deg) started flashing with compressor running permantly. I restarted after reducing to-16deg & motor stops & starts normally. however I still have about 100ml of condensation water evry 24hrs, so tomorrow I'll pull her off the wall & try to rod through & unblock the water conduits. If this turns out to be a defrost timer problem I don't fancy splashing out £125for a PCB so I shall try a timer on the in the wallsocket & set it for 60 to 75mins every 24 hours.I'll update you soon about the result.

Just having a problem with the same model.
Top panel is removed by undoing 2 screws, then prising off at the top and side simultaneously - not the bottom of it - no clips on there.
Circuit board showed clear signs of overheating under the large Diodes, and one of the surface mount transistors showed some heat on the reverse of the board.
Error was showing E2 on the fridge display, and was intermittent, temp rising to 12 degrees.
Prior to this, it was leaving a block of ice at the base of the freezer.

I had the same problem with my KGU3220GB for the last 3 years. You can remove the rear panel of the freezer just by pulling it out. The panel has a fan with a wire which will unplug from the top right rear.

The ice build up is due to the defrost cycle not working. Ice will build up in the freezer, stopping cold air circulating to the fridge. Then the fridge-freezer decides to start beeping and totally shut down.

I've given up counting the numner of times I've had to manually defrost the freezer- probably every 2/3 mnths.

Bought the Bosch new from John Lewis and 2 mnths later I lost all my food (£200+) when the fridge freezer decided to warm up (I hadn't noticed the freezer icing up). The Bosch repair engineer said the fridge-freezer was perfect, but there wasn't enough air circulating behind the unit as it was sited in a corner! John Lewis washed their hands of it and expected me to take 2/3 days off work waiting for Bosch service engineers to hear the same siting bollox.

I've now just bought a liebherr fridge. Spoke to the liebherr service guy about the Bosch. He said the "siting" expalnation was a fob off - there was more than enough clearance for air circulation. The fault is with the PCB (printed circuit board) behind the digital temp display. Bosch pcb's are notoriously unreliabable. A new one costs ~£120- £150 + fitting.

I had a go at removing the pcb, but could work out how to remove the top panel to get to it??

Overall, I will never buy any Bosch and any white goods again from Peter Jones/Jone Lewis. I'm a tradesman too and have since switched to buying Hitachi powertools too.
