renault laguna fuel tank straps?

Hi,

Could any1 please help,

the retaining straps on my 1995 renault laguna 1.8L RT fuel tank rotted away and finally broke off today, Been onto motor accessory shops..no joy, scrap dealers...no joy, tried a main renault dealer....30pounds each + VAT, dont want to do this is there any cheap solution to my problem please help

technically theres no need for these straps as the tank is bolted to the body anyway, i done mine think about 17quid each from renault

HI THERE, MY CAR, THE SAME AS YOURS, FAILED THE MOT ON A CORRODED TANK STRAP. I GOT A BRAND NEW STRAP AT A RENAULT DEALER FOR £11, BUT IT COST ME £41 TO HAVE THEM FIT IT!

there a bitch to change aswell!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the top nut inside the rear chassis comes free and spins and of course being a renault you have no way of holding them, need to be cut and some large self tapper bolts that will fit the hole the old 1s come from............GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS..... GOOD LUCK..... YA NEED IT
