You will definitely need a machine press to press out the old bearings and insert the new ones. I have just had to enlist help of a mechanic and his press to do this job today!

1. Choke the front wheels, jack up the rear of the car and support both sides on axle stands.

2. Remove small hubcap from alloy and remove alloy roadwheels.

3. Working on one wheel at a time... remove the drum brake (If the drum is still then drop the handbrake!)

4. Using circlip pliers (£5-10 from Halfords), remove the washer holding the bearing in. By the way - the bearing is inside the drum you have just taken off - the thing you're now holding in your hands!

5. Turn the disc over and press out the old bearing. Use a piece of wood or something soft.

6. Once out clean the inside of the drum where you've just removed the bearing from. You should have already bought (don't trust pattern parts on this) a hub bearing kit and hub nut. (x2 - one each side)

7. Install the new hub and press it into place. Use LM (High melting point grease) or gear oil to assist (DO NOT USE WD-40!!)

8. Install new circlip washer place drum back onto axle.

9. Repeat on other side. Good Luck!
