the blue wire tip works perfectly - issue now seems to be that the ovens are either on full flame or not at all. any ideas?

Just had exactly the same thing happen to me. Timer continually flashing and showing auto. Unable to set to manual. The instructions posted below really do work. Who cares about the clock....my oven works!!! Takes about 20 mins. Take your time and just be careful when you slide the right hand cover to the right after removing the screws. You don't have to treat it like cotton wool but jst be careful not to yank it too far up when you lift it to get at the blue wires. Many thanks.

Thanks for the tip . saved me loads of money :) . In my Rangemaster 110 the blue wires were already joined so i just disconected them from the back of the timer, kept them joined together and put some electrical tape over the bare contacts. Job done . obviously no clock or timer but the oven works :)

like many many people same problem. If you want to fix the problem immediately and do not mind losing the clock function - in our case we never used it - do the following; Lift the hob and looking directly down at the clock, there will be 2 blue wires on the left hand side. Disconnect both from the unit and attach both blue wires to each other - very very easy to do as the connections at the end of the wires allow for this. Like I say, you will have no clock function but will be able to use the oven in the way it was meant to work. No cost no hassle - it will solve the problem
