when tuning in an FM radio station ....make sure the FM antenna (a small piece of wire with a round white socket on the end) has been plugged in - otherwise you will not receive any sound from the amp at all when tuning in the station
1. Press 'tuner' on your amplifier and tune in a radio station - if you have no sound - press the "A" on the front lower left side of the amp when you are facing it... near where it says "speakers" and there is and "A" and a "B" button. when the amp comes out of the box, both "A" and "B" speakers will be off as a default setting.
if you get sound - you're fixed
if no sound, continue reading...
2. check that your speakers work by removing each speaker lead from the back of the amp and touch the two ends of the speaker wire to each end of a AA battery from your remote control. you should hear a 'popping' noise if they work.
3. make sure to bear the copper in the speaker wires before connecting to any terminal
4. if you have used a digital connection for a DVD player or the like, go to the input (ie. 'DVD' if using the DVD player) and then press the "digital Input" button on the amplifier to scroll through your options....you'll get 'Opt 1' (for optical fiber 1), 'Coax 1' ( for Digital Coaxial cable 1) and 'Coax 2' (for digital coaxial cable 2) .... these correspond with the numbered digital connections on the back of the amp.
checked all that it still just clicks and no sound no attenna hooked up my onkyo ht r340 reciever comes on but delivers no antenna hooked up at all.
okay, I would suggest connecting and FM antenna merely to test the amplifier.
What we are trying to determine is weather this is "equipment error" or "user error". Since the "Tuner" input on the amplifier is a hard connection (ie. the input can not be altered, it's directly connected to the FM antenna), it is important to test the amplifier this way first - to make sure the amplifier is actually outputting volume at all. If the amplifier IS sending some noise out of your speakers when set on "Tuner" ( with a FM antenna is plugged in) - it will be a small matter of designating inputs on the amplifier. This will be a very easy task .... without doing the FM antenna test, I can't help you - as I cannot see your configuration.
