Does anyone know where I can get a replacement battery for my McKeller 18v drill. Focus don't sell them and they don't know or wont tell where to get them.
Got a McKellar 18 volt drill at house in Spain. Bought 12 years ago from Focus. Battery nearly flat every time we visit house (approx. every 2 months) and charges up over 6 hours and then does loads of jobs. At my work ( commercial vehicle repair workshops) I have had every type of, old style ni-cad, battery drill e.t.c and can honestly say this is the cheapest (sorry, was the cheapest) battery powered tool I have ever had and, dare I say, the best. I woe the demise of Focus and their special offers!!
I thought my drill was broken but checked the battery and it was fine. I also opened the battery but all the cells seemed fine. By jiggling the battery sideways in the drill handle, it worked perfectly. I suggest some wires or contacts may be loose in the drill body. I'm able to use my 18v McKeller drill now. Someone may find this info useful.
I have just the Battery as my drill has packed up due to being dropped.
I will check P&P and get back to you if you still want battery.
I will charge £5.00 for Charger.
look up instructables on the net and search for ni-cad batteries. there you will find instructions on addind new power cells to your existing battery.
hope this helps
