I have a Toyota RS2000 sewing machine and usually works well with ability to sew using different patterns and fabrics. Sewing denim i.e. jeans turnups has been a nightmare as the reverse side stitch shows puckering and loops etc. I've tried upper and lower tension adjustment but just cannot get it right. I've even adjusted screw on bobbin holder. Can anyone help as the machine seems to be ok in other respects. Thanks
Adjust the screw on the top back of the machine which changes the stitch size. The sew a piece of cloth, turning the stitch selector, one stitch setting at a time working round the complete dial.. This usually works for me.
Just experienced the same problem with my Toyota.
I have adjusted the top tension to between 4 & 5 - reversed the direction of the bobbin thread, slightly tightened the bobbin tension, changed the needle and gone back to Gutterman thread - IT WORKED!
Hello Christine,
Put a new needle in first, top tension about 4 or 5, adjust the bobbin tension so you can just pull the thread through with some resistence, if it is too tight slacken the screw on the bobbin case about a quarter of a turn at a time anti clockwise.
