Hi I have a 2 year old Zanussi ZWF1632w Aquacycle washing machine that won't always start properly. Upon programming the cycle onto the LED display and pressing the "Start/Pause" button, the door lock actuator makes its usual click noise but doesn't appear to be locking the door correctly. All the LED's then disappear before the "End" LED illuminates and an audible BEEP noise is heard. After trying a few more times the machine will actually start and then perform the cycle as normal. I'm thinking it could be a sticky door lock solenoid giving trouble. The lock recess is behind a small plastic panel inside the door aperture held by a couple of screws. Anyone any experience with this kind of issue???
We have the same machine and have the same problem. A friend who is a factory maintenance engineer help assess the problem. It is a faulty door switch which is pretty easy to fit. Should cost about £30. Our machine would not run so will be buying a new switch tomorrow.
Thanks for the info! I've found a door interlock priced at £12.95 on ransom spares. I'm guessing its not too bad to fit? Can you fit it from the door aperture area, or would I need to take the top off the machine and reach down the inside? As I write this, the machines working, so we'll check to see if the light flashes the code for interlock fault. Cheers, Jonty.
yes door interlocks can be troublesome but whether this is the reason for yours playing up I couldn't say without trying a new one.does the end light flash twice, then pause, then twice, then pause etc?.If so this is the error code for a door interlock fault
