Fridge Domestic 4233s 5 years old in caravan?Fridge works fine on electric but on gas it does not get cold. The pilot light is ok but the fridge does not get cold inside. The pipes at the back do not get warm on gas but on electric they do. I guess this is why it's not working but what component is faulty which is not allowing the gas to do it's work ?
Thanks

"Hi Dave we had a fridge on a boat that done this and we were told to turn it up side down for 24 hours,"
Thanks Tony I tried this but for me it did not work.
I found a website http://fixitnow.com/appliantology/gasfridgebasics.htm which helped me solve the problem. My fridge now works.
To re-cap, my fridge worked fine on electric and the pilot light seemed fine on gas but gas did not get the fridge cold. There was not enough heat from the gas to get things going. WHY, first I vacuumed the gas chimney and burner jet assembly. Then checked the gas regulator by substitution, that was ok, then with the gas lit, turned the thermo knob up and down and the flame increased and lowered so I assumed that was ok (they are £60 to replace) so then I concentrated at the gas burner end.
I carefully removed the gas burner from the chimney, and the gas jet plate, (7mm dia) in the end of it, dropped out and there was a small rust particle on it making the hole in the jet plate much smaller which reduced the flow of gas to the burner so therefore the flame was smaller and in-sufficient heat was made by the flame.
So, in my case, a blocked burner gas jet was the problem. At £37.50 an hour, estimated 3 hrs required to find/fix/and test, I saved a good weeks holiday away in the van including fuel.

Hi Dave we had a fridge on a boat that done this and we were told to turn it up side down for 24 hours, some how it does something with the gas and it's still working to day some 5 years later
