Can my McKeller Hammer Drill, Model MCKM14, be repaired?
I have a McKeller 240Volt, 1010Watt Hammer drill. Model MCKM14. Batch 05/2004.
The gear drive on the end of the armature has been severely damaged. Can this be replaced or is it an integral part of the armature.
Hi, I have an unused Mckeller Hammer Drill, model MCKM14 from the same batch as yours. I bought two of these to strip render from my last house. This one runs OK but will not retain a tool in the SDS chuck. I would guess it is a dimensional error in thebatch, a spring behind the ball bearing retainer not operating, broken or wrongly installed. I have had this either in my garage or at my yard and have not used it for a job. I have had a quick look on a couple of occassions but never dismanled it. I have now moved, retired and trying to reduce my jobs "I might do sometime". The part you are after is remote from the problem with this one. The motor runs well and all other functions work OK. I was going to advertise it on ebay this week however it may do you some good if you want to try repairing yours from this one. It will come with a case and I was going to start the auction at £19.99 plus £6 postage. If you let me have your email address I can send some photos. I regularly use ebay and you may wish to check my feedback there - ebay ref. 630johnw.
