my toilet wont stop filling, it overflows and still doesnt stop. I have to turn the tap on and stop it after each use.
I looked inside the ball is on, but thats after I put it back on.
It is a very old toilet, made of ceramic..its really annoying..please please help!
It's a Fowler-Pacific special.
By the sound of it yhe rubber seal is wore.
since you are able to turn the water off and on you should be able to repair this yourself.
On the oppisite end of the Ballcock you will see a big grooved nut, remove this and you will find the old rubber seal, bring this to you'r local builders suppliers and get a duplicate. To replace the screwnut, Line it up to the threads and turn it first anticlockwise (as if you were removing it) keeping slight pressure on it to keep it in place then screw it (clockwise) back into place. you may need a wrench to do this.
Good Luck with it I hope I have been of help
