The diaphrams will last longer if all the old perished diaphram material stuck to the plastic piston, and on the brass caseing is carefully removed, otherwise they dont last long (more work for the boys!). The microswitch operated by this piston can fail. Either you dont get hot water when you want it apart from when the radiators are on (failed in 'no demand'), or you get the boiler on all the time (failed in 'hot water required'), the fulcrum arm diverter arm is in CH mode in the later case, so the boiler heats water that flows round the radiator circuit rather than the heat exchanger circuit; net result: hot radiators all the time. The switch is a cheap part, as are the diaphrams, as is an extra ten minutes cleaning the old diaphram remains off when replacing the diaphram. You may prefer to play safe and get a Vokera recommended local specialist to do the work, it could be cheaper than a corgi generalist, and may be safer than tackling it yourself if you are unsure.

I'm not a plumber, but have this problem with my Vokera 80. Also, if I try to get the water to heat the radiators heat up instead. My plumber renewed the piston that switches between water and radiators, but the problem returned within a year. Now I'm told that the system probably needs flushing. Would love some advice.
