My AEG 6040 Favorit starts as normal but after the first couple of minutes, the program stops although the machine continues making the normal program noises. Advancing the control can somtimes make it move on for a couple of minutes but it doesn't appear to do anthing although the inpur water supply appears OK. When I press the On/Off switch, the light goes out, but the program continus to try to run and the noises continue! The only way to stop it is to remove the plug but, as soon as the plug is replaced the program appears to try to start once again. Any ideas?
Empty the water from the salt resevoir (I used a turkey baster), rock the machine backwards and forwards a few times and empty any additional water from the resevoir.
We have similar on our AEG 4040 and in the course of moving it around to get to the back of it, we discovered that it works when the back is propped up about an inch higher than the front. Got no idea why this works but it did!
