how do I get my MP3 player to resume where I left off?
I have a Sylvania SMP2012 MP3 player and I listen to audio books on it. When I turn it back on it resumes but not in the place I left off. It doesn't go back to the beginning, it resumes in a place a few minutes before the place I was when I turned it off. I pause it before turning it off but was unsure if there was something I need to do ( such as hold the pause for a certain numer of seconds or something) to make it resume in the right place.
If you don't want unit to start all over again from the first song when you turn it on again.
DO THIS, when listening to the song you want to return to,
push and hold down the pause/play button until unit turns off.
DO NOT TURN OFF the on/off switch.
To turn it on again just push pause/play button and HOLD IT DOWN UNTIL UNIT STARTS UP.
then when it is playing plug in usb cord to charge it.
I use the on/off button only as a reset switch if I want to start the music from the first selection.
Othewise I always leave the switch in the on position.
I don't have the same type of player as you do, but since many player seems to built on the same circuitry this might work for you too.
After you hit the pause button do not turn the player off. Wait for the player to turn itself off (assuming yours turns off automatically after x amount of inactivity like mine does, maybe 30 seconds). Turn it back on and see if it picks up where it left off.
If that doesn't work, then yours isn't quite like mine and I don't know what else to suggest.
