my ford ka won't start, help please?its a 53 plate 1.3 petrol ka, i had just parked up but decide to move it some where else but found it wouldn't start, the dashboard lights just flashed and the speedo and fuel gauge were flicking, the car wouldn't even turn over. i bump started the car with no problem and went round the block fine. but when i tried to start it again normally it wouldn't go. i tried the radio and that worked although when i turned the fans on the fans came on but sound went from the radio, so it seems to be struggling with electrical power.i have been having no problems with it and seen no warning lights while driving just before. the dashboard lights are on with keys in but when i try to start the engine the lights flash or fade, the fuel and speedo gauges do this wierd flickering thing and the engine does nothing. any help on solving this problem would be great.
cheers

it sounds like either ur battery is not holding its charge or ur alternator is faulty , get a multi meter turn to voltage put the probes to the terminals ov the battery red to red and black to black it should read around 12volts ifso start the car and do the same it should read around 12.5 - 3.5volts if not it seems ur alternator is faulty. can u let me know how u get on
