Dear .
the problem that you have is the vic control unit . that is for sure . as i had the same problem and the vic was dead .
as all the dashboard is down after spending a lot of time finding out the problem i found the problem was the vic as there is no fuse or relay that control the vic to look for . it is the vic for sure dashboard down then it is vic .

he may have blown the VIC ..VIC supplys the info to the DIP (DRIVERS INSRUMENT PANEL) unfortunately the VIC has the chassis number in it IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY ,so a VIC from the scrappy will still show faults ,though a dealer should be able to sort it ,if my memeory serves me well..what may have happened with the jump start ,and this is common to all vehicles cars ,trucks ,buses ..when you jump start ,before removing the jump leads ,you have to switch on as many consumables as possible.ie lights wipers heaters.as when you remove the leads you get a voltage spike ,with just a normal set of leads with as many consumables as possible on you may pop a bulb ,if he never had anything on ,you pop an ecu ..even with all the above precautions you may still if unlucky pop an ecu ...what i do suggest you do in the first place is disconnect the battery both neg and pos leads .with both of the battery hold them together for 30 secs ,then reconnect ..if still no joy DAF dealer job to see if the VIC will tak to DAVIE ...or you can pull fuses ,unfortunately the fuse labeling on the LF isn't the greatest ,but i'm sure the VIC fuses are labelled ..let us know how you get on ...i'll do futher checks and see what else i can find
