A few weeks ago I noticed the drum wasn't turning during a cycle, and the motor humming. I opened the door and found the load was a big one but within the 7KG load limit. After restarting, everything was ok. The fault has repeated itself many times since. After the drum stops the heat obviously build up. Recently this caused the heater (on the rear) to trip, which I have now reset. I've opened up the machine to check for anything obvious. The belt looks ok and the correct tension. We are able to continue using the dryer, but have to stay close by in case the drum stops and the heater gets too hot.
I suspect the motor is at fault but wanted your opinion.
Sorry, it's the LG TD-C70040E.
Would the start capcitor cause the motor to struggle half way through a cycle? If so, could you help explain where the capacitor could be found within the machine?
