How can I fix my Hoover 'Saver' HD73M? It's burning!?My dishwasher, Hoover 'Saver' HD73M, seems to be burning metal parts inside, during the washing cycles (various). I had been noticing a bad smell for days then noticed that at the bottom of the washer, inside, there are some sort of curved metal tubes (thermostat???) which up until recently had been just covered with the white chalky hard water residue, but in the last few days they started going dark and I realised last night that they have been burning because the white residue is now charred and disintegrating. I can't see anything that could be causing it. The other thing that started happening about the same time and that is why I noticed the foul smell on opening the dishwasher after completion of the cycle, was that the washing tablet was still half there in its little compartment all gooey, but not used up. I just thought the smell was because it wasn't doing a proper washing as the tablet wasn't used up, or maybe I over filled it (too many dishes etc), and indeed there seemed to be some sort of residue on the dishes/glasses, nevertheless the tubes at the bottom are definitely burning away during the cycles. What is causing this and can I salvage my dishwasher? We have had it for seven years and it's brilliant, just the odd filter cleaning episodes, but I was hoping it would last us a bit longer. Thanks.
