How do I access the blade in thetford casette waste tank?
I have a Thetford cassette toilet, just removed from a Bessacar Cameo caravan, circa 1988 ( I think) I have cleaned it all up and got the pump working on the 12v battery. The blade on the waste tank is very stiff and a bit scratched and I have tried to remove it by undoing 8 screws but all that comes off is the holding plate and the rubber seal. I can't get to the inside to see how the blade fits together. Also, while feeling around inside I knocked a black plastic 'box' with spongy stuff in it and it fell to the bottom of the tank. I can't feel where it came from. I would so appreciate it if someone who knows could tell me how to take the tank apart so I can see how to mend it, that is--- change the blade and put the little black 'box' back where it should be. There is no number on the loo to say what type it is but it is a bench style loo with the loo roll holder on the right as you face the toilet and the flush / cum/ blade opener on the left. It is cream in colour and the waste tank is a long cream coloured one. I hope this might help someone identify it. Many thanks indeed for any help you can give me---
you can't take the tanks apart but follow the info below to access the thetford free pdf repair downloads but you will need the model of your toilet or search products fixed toilets and see which looks like yours if there are two download both but most holding tanks are the same. you get step by step instructions with photo's and or drawings. copy them to a cd/dvd for future reference.
