every time i turn the hot or cold tap on or off i get a clunking noise. this happens on all taps (sink, basin, bath) plus shower and toilet both which are on a different line to the rest.I mean the toilet and shower have an inlet coming up through floor with its own stopcock which is in a different place to the other stopcock (in kitchen) I cant seem to see any loose pipes and have had the stopcock in kitchen changed. also all my water apart from central heating is down stairs which includes my new combi boiler. The problem is i cant seem to find where the noise is coming from e.g. when in bathroom noise sounds like under bath, when in kitchen noise seems like its in boiler.
I'm getting a bit concerned incase the clunking causes damage to pipes.
A plumber was fitting a fire for me a couple of weeks ago and he listened to the noise but didnt seem interested in trying to locate the problem as he says it could be anything and anywhere and would take time and he may never find it..
So I was wondering if i was to get a water arrestor fitted close to the stopcock would this solve problem? plumber didnt know and as valve was over £40 didnt want to try incase it didnt work and was a waste of money
Does anybody have any ideas as to how i can stop this problem
thanks for any help
