i have a hotpoint ff200e fridge freezer, the lights were continually flashing, i unplugged it turned off the thermostats as directed by an Expert left it for a couple of minutes, the lights have stopped flashing but the fridge is not cooling, the freezer is fine, can anybody help please
The fridge takes cold air from the freezer compartment by two ducts.
A motorized flap (above the fridge light hidden behind the plastic regulates the flow of cold air) to maintain the set temp in the fridge.
The problem is that one of the ducts between the freezer compartment and the fridge gets blocked by ice and the cold air doesnt flow upto the fridge.
The solution is to defrost the (yes, even if its frost free!) fridge freezer.
A drip tray at the rear of the fridge will probably overflow (maybe 3 - 4 pints) so dont be alarmed if the floor gets a bit damp!
