My ryobi petrol strimmer head suddenly stopped spinning ,is it an easy fix or should I just bin it it's less than 6 months old . I had 2 McCullochs before this and the engines just lost power after a couple of weeks ,hhence me trying a ryobi.I must add I was using the strimmer fine 10 minutes before it stopped spinning, the head hasn't sized, aany help would be most appreciated
If the string trimmer head won't spin the clutch assembly might be worn out. The clutch assembly is located near the engine at the end of the trimmer shaft. It is sometimes possible to clean and repair the clutch assembly, but given the cost and the difficulty of the repair, it may be easier to simply replace the entire clutch assembly, but i would just buy another trimmer as life is too short !!!
