Wondering where the drain pump is situated on this machine - can't see it. Machine not draining (no pump noise) and flood float is activated. If you depress the float switch it begins to fill so this might be a different problem (or the leak might be related). Is the draining done by pump or by the main circulating pump with a solenoid valve or reversal? Since it doesn't drain, the programmer also stops. Any advice appreciated.
...found the secret button(s)....two hidden locking tabs on the tongue holding the pump to the sump housing bracket. You have to push them UP from below to release them. Also found the problem - the magnetic impeller was getting stiff. Working it in and out for a bit seems to have freed it off, and after draining the overflow sump the machine is now working. Next need to find the cause of the overflow sump being full. The overflow switch was stopping everything except the pump from working, and the pump was stuck - so nothing seemed to be happening at all.
Noted that I didn't need to have removed the pump; the coil assembly clips to the pump (impeller) housing, which is mechanically and electrically isolated - works by magnets - and the impeller housing detached from the pump casing by a small rotation. The pump casing detaches from the inlet stub with another small rotation, so you can take almost any of the parts out without removing any pipes. Whether you can get the parts separately is another story.
Also, you can depress the tabs holding the bottom tray to the frame, release it and drop it just enough to ease access to the pump. Saves some scraped knuckles.
OK, now I've located the drain pump and disconnected it from electrics and pipes - but I can't see how it is attached to its bracket. I don't want to break it - what's the secret button to press....?
