Panasonic 36" Tau Flat Screen TBM2AC0282 Fuse issues?
My Panasonic 36" Tau Flat Screen TBM2AC0282 turned on and then immediately turned off. This is the first time this has ever happened, but I can see this is a common problem for this model television. I understand that I can change a fuse and fix the problem but I do not know where to find the fuse or what kind of fuse to get. Can anyone tell me where the fuse is located and what kind to get. I am extremely handy with electronics and can solder so get me close and I know I can fix this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Frustrated in Oxnard, California
anyone familiar with electronics should know that replacing a fuse is rarely a cure. it is usually the symptom of a problem which must be put right before the fuse is changed. TVs are more complicated than most consumer electroncis and requiere specific knowledge. Take it to a tech now, if you dont want to run the risk of blowing more expensive parts.
If the TV is totally dead with no standby indication then it may be the fuse. However, manufacturers fuse modifications should only be carried out by qualified engineers as they will also ensure there is no underlying fault and that the pcb is relabled correctly. The fuse is normally located toward the front panel pcb, left-side of TV (viewed from front).
If the TV comes on briefly then switches to standby, then the protection circuit is activating and again you'll need an engineer.
