How can I fix my dishlex global 450?My dishwasher goes part way through cycle then flashes "of" and makes a continuous humming sound like a pump still going or something. Even when you open the door. I have tried disconnecting the power but when I plug it in again, it does the same thing. It is a Dishlex Global 450 and I have no manual.

The overflow tray at the bottom is full. This tray collects water that seeps past the door seals. There is a float in the Tay, that will rise with the water, and force the pump to come on. Drain the tray of water, and observe if it starts to refill.

My dishlex global 450 does not release the detergent from the dispenser inside the door.
i am very handy with electrics and would like to have a go at fixing it, i think it may be a solenoid failure, does anyone know where i can get a schematic online !

Just a correction to my last answer, when the
'of' (over-fill) code is showing, the sound of the motor you hear will be the pump motor trying to empty water from what is being detected as an overfull machine. You should turn the machine off at the power after confirming that no water is still enetering the machine from a faulty inlet valve that could be stuck open. If water is still coming in turn off the water supply and then the power and arrange a service.

The "of" code is a safety feature and usually results when a small amount of fluid has gradually leaked from the wash chamber of the machine, usually from splashing past leaky/dirty rubber seals at the sides or base of the door.
The leaked fluid runs down an overflow channnel and collects in the pan of the overflow float switch in the lowest chamber at the rear of the machine (accessible, if needed, by removing the right side and rear panels). The fluid in the pan rises causing the float to rise and operate the safety switch for "motor and fill shutdown" and activate the "of" code. The machine will not run until this is drained, but the cause needs to be rectified.
One off leaks can happen from using the wrong detergent because it causes foaming up that can "climb" past gaps in the seals, or because of insufficient pumping out for various reasons (see below).
The first step of each wash cycle is a short pumping out cycle intended to empty any stale water that has drained down /remained from the last cycle and so that the new fill of water will not overfill the wash chamber. If water is still inside the machine after the last cycle and especially after the "first step pumping" it could be because of dirty filters slowing pump output, a blocked or failed pump, a blocked or kinked drain hose, or a blocked under-sink drain inlet where the hose attaches.
Also in areas of very high pressure you may need to reduce the fill amount that is controlled by a resettable filling valve seconds timer (see the instructions). Excessive fill levels will tend to increase leaks past the door seal.
Check your door seals for cleanliness and integrity, especially the bottom door seal for chunks missing, cracks or warping that will allow splashing out during operation. This is a common cause of "of" codes.
If faulty, the bottom door seal is an 8mm "U" section rubber available from Clark rubber by the metre, and cost me $3.00 to replace.
Use a long bristled nylon dishbrush to clean the door seal area (especially behind the bottom seal) thoroughly every month or so with a small anount of hypochlorite bleach. Then rinse with near boiling water from a kettle. This helps stop really gross gunk buildup from accumulating and preventing proper contact of the door seal with the body when the door closes.
It is advisable to have a serviceman drain the pan.
The pan can be drained (unplug the power cord first!!!) by tipping the machine completely onto its right side and leaving for half an hour. Don't do this if water remains in the wash chamber! However this shortcut will result in corrosion eventually, and could possibly result in dangerous electrical shorts. That's why a serviceman is advisable.

I have received a really good tip and it works .... whenever you have problems pull the dishwasher out, lay in on it's right hand side for half an hour then stand it back up and it'll be reset .. this worked for me when it was displaying "of" because I had used regular washing up liquid in it.

of = overflow
This will happen if you have never cleaned out the mesh filters that are located in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Either dismantle the filters and clean them by hand or use a de scaling chemical which you can buy from any supermarket.
If the problem continues you may need to re seat the water level float that can be found under the unit (may need a tech to do this)

Oh yeah I forgot to tell you, before you pull your dishwasher out, try resetting the machine, by turning it off at the power for at least 20 secs, then turn back on and then hold the ECO button in for 10 secs, you should hear a beep. Then it is reset, try and run a cycle again and see if that corrects your problem first. Goodluck

Mine does the same from time to time, usually the float gets stuck in the pump. Get someone to remove it with experience so you don't fry yourself. The float gets stuck from excess soap powder in the water.
