Hi,I have Scantronic 9872 in my shop and we had a chime when someone enters through the door. Suddenly the alarms started ringing one day and I cut the wires off to the speakers. We reset the system and connected everthing again, but now the door chime doesn't work when a customer enters the shop. Any ideas of what the reason can be? Thanks

I have a scantronic 9448+ style which I use with the 9427 style keypad. I moved into my house this year and do not have the code. How do I reset? I cannot find any RS molex pins or a reset button? Is there another solution? Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place? also I live in Uxbridge Middlesex & I cannot find the number or web address of an engineer/maintenance man to assess the problem if required? Please help, my alarm is driving me insane!

Hi, I placed a scredriver over the RST pins (Has Reset written on 9448+ not RST) and then engaged power and it worked was able to easily programme alarm.
Just one other question, prior to this the bellbox outside was sparking a bright light behind the box every 5 seconds or so and making a clicking nose I shut down the alarm. But now that the alarm works it only goes off internally any idea what the problem with outside bellbox is? Thanks

Do you have the installation manual for the alarm?
If not, go to site: www.securitycentres.co.uk, and select the scantronic 9448+, you will find a copy.
It will tell you how to do it in there, but basically:
Disconnect the battery inside the main alarm panel, and the mains power. Then whilst inside the alarm panel, at the bottom of the left hand side of the circuit board there are 2 little pins marked 'RST', place a metal screwdriver across the 2 pins, and while still accross them - reapply the mains. your alarm will be defaulted and your code will then be 1234.
1234 will silence the alarm, then 0-enter 7890 will get you into engineering mode
Obviously you will need the programming guide to reprogramme the settings, although this is pretty straight forward with the guide.

This text is from Product Manual
Restoring Factory Defaults
The control panel can retain all programmed information and access codes if
both mains and battery power fail. When power is restored the panel will
simply need resetting with either the user's or engineer's access code.
If the end user forgets the user access code then:
1. Power down the control panel, mains and battery.
2. Locate the pair of Molex pins marked 'RST' near the microcontroller.
3. Place a small screwdriver blade to short between the 'RST' pins.
4. With the blade still across the pins, apply battery power then mains.
The system loads the factory default user and engineer's access codes.
5 Remove the screwdriver blade.
6. Key in 1234.
7 Key in 0 then ENTER followed by 7890.
6 You must now reprogram the access codes.
If you want to return the panel to the factory default settings without changing
the access codes:
1. Enter programming mode (if you are not already there).
2. Key in "98 ENTER" at the keypad.
The system loads the factory default command values but does not
changes the access codes.
