How can I recondition my Yamaha P65 Outboard Engine?
I have an old Yamaha P65 Outbourd which requires a recondition - it seems to be too old to be able to find a service manual for it and I am concerned that if I strip it I won't be able to get gaskets for parts for the carb etc. I think it was made in 1980. Thanks
I will maybe have some engine parts and lower end parts.
I have myself a P-65A, a P-95A and a P-125A I am rebuiding. I do also have parts and service catalogs (original)
Im looking for the starting system for a outboard Yamaha P65 3.5 hp.
year model about 1970
Could you tell me if you have thiS spare part ?
Thanks in advnace
If it runs leave the carb alone, if not spray carb cleaner into the air intake, that takes care of cleaning the carb. You should replace the spark plug with the same model and type.
Then simply get some gear oil for the gears at the bottom, drain it out into a measuring container then refill with the same amount but say plus 10%.
These little 3.5 outboards are bullet proof, being so simple and air cooled. For spares just tap P65 spares into google and see what happens.
